Attic Inscriptions Online (AIO) is a leading digital platform dedicated to the study and dissemination of ancient Greek inscriptions, specifically those from Athens and Attica. Founded by Stephen Lambert in December 2012, AIO initially focused on translating and publishing the inscribed laws and decrees of Athens dating from 352/1-322/1 BC. Since its transfer to the British School at Athens in 2021, the site has expanded significantly, boasting over 2,000 inscriptions, with ambitious plans to eventually include more than 20,000.
AIO regularly releases new entries and supporting academic papers through its AIO Papers series, enhancing accessibility for both specialists and general audiences. Additionally, AIO collaborates on various projects, such as the systematic republication of inscriptions in UK collections through the AIUK initiative. This dedication to scholarship is supported by an experienced Editorial Committee and a wide network of contributors in the fields of ancient history and epigraphy, making AIO an invaluable resource for researchers, educators, and students alike.
