About African Energy Commission of the African Union
AFREC, the African Energy Commission, is a specialized energy agency of the African Union that coordinates, protects, develops, and integrates energy resources across the continent. Offering various programs and initiatives, AFREC focuses on areas such as the African Energy Information System, bioenergy development, energy transition, energy efficiency, and oil and gas. The commission also provides extensive data and statistics on energy production and consumption within the 55 member states, along with policy documents and publications to aid in energy policy development and project design at national, regional, and continental levels.
