Auckland Offroad Racing

Auckland Offroad Racing Club is a New Zealand motorsport club formed through the coming together of the Auckland Buggy Club and Western Districts Offroad Racing Club. It brings together the heritage and members of both organizations, continuing their traditions while creating new opportunities for offroad racing. The club welcomes experienced racers and newcomers interested in the sport.

Its history includes events at Muriwai Beach, where the Auckland Buggy Club pioneered offroad racing and held the demanding Great Race, along with Gymkhanas and club days. Western Districts established the Woodhill 100, a major annual endurance event, as well as the Peter Howell Memorial race in Maramarua Forest and a shortcourse series at Meremere Dirt Track. Today, the club organizes and promotes racing events, including the Woodhill 100, and shares event information, news, results, and a calendar through its website. Its activities support competition and community participation across New Zealand’s offroad racing scene, honouring the clubs’ combined legacy and helping keep the sport’s adventurous spirit alive.
