About Audiofemme
Audiofemme is a pioneering platform dedicated to amplifying the voices of female and non-binary music writers and fostering a vibrant community within the arts. Since its inception in 2012, the brand has cultivated a unique perspective on music and cultural criticism through an intersectional feminist lens. Central to its mission is the Audiofemme Agenda Artist Grant, established in 2020, which provides $2,000 in seed funding to emerging interdisciplinary artists, particularly from BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ backgrounds.
The grant supports a diverse array of artists, including composer-lyricists, performance artists, and songwriters, who explore themes like identity, community, and personal liberation through their work. Notable grant recipients include Mal Devisa, who blends liberation themes in their songwriting, and Kyoko Takenaka, whose artistic expression transcends borders and genres. Audiofemme not only champions innovative creators but also builds a supportive ecosystem for artistic development, making it a vital force in the contemporary cultural landscape.
