About AudioSilo
AudioSilo is an open-source, self-hosted audiobook platform for people who want to keep their library and listening data under their control. Its Go server runs on users’ own hardware and is available as a Docker image or a standalone binary. AudioSilo offers audiobook players for iOS and the web, with an Android app in closed testing. The web player can also be installed as a progressive web app.
Listeners can stream or download DRM-free audiobooks, then continue across devices with synced playback progress, bookmarks and notes. Player features include variable-speed playback, chapter controls, a sleep timer, library search and offline listening. The server indexes audiobook files in place, supports different folder and file arrangements, and lets users share selected books, authors, series or libraries with others while keeping each person’s activity separate.
AudioSilo is free under the AGPLv3 license and requires no subscription. A desktop manager for backing up audiobooks users own from Audible is in development; it is intended for personal use, not redistribution.
