Audubon Festival

The Audubon Art and Craft Festival is a community event organized by the Northeast Pennsylvania Audubon Society in Hawley, Pennsylvania, near Lake Wallenpaupack. Held annually since 1985, the festival is known for bringing together art, wildlife education, and family activities in the Pocono region. Its exhibits feature close to 100 juried artists and artisans, with original work that often reflects nature and wildlife. Offerings have included painting, photography, illustration, pottery, woodworking, glasswork, carving, leatherwork, weaving, and metalwork.

Visitors can also attend live wildlife shows featuring native animals such as owls, hawks, falcons, snakes, lizards, and mammals, alongside activities for children. Past programming has included an electric vehicle show, where owners presented their cars and discussed their features. The festival also supports the Society’s environmental work: funds raised help provide community and school education, college and camp scholarships, grants, and maintenance for two wetland sanctuaries in the Northern Poconos. The website notes that the 2022 festival was cancelled and expressed hope of returning in 2023.
