Augura

Augura is the Association of Banana Producers of Colombia, a trade organization founded in 1963 that represents, supports, and strengthens around 70% of the country’s banana producers. It works to advance the sector and promote the international profile of Colombian bananas, with a focus on producers in Urabá and Magdalena. Augura connects banana production with wider social and economic development, highlighting employment, community wellbeing, and responsible practices across the regions where the industry operates.

The association promotes environmental, social, and labor sustainability, including responsible production, good agricultural practices, certification programs, and partnerships with international cooperatives. Its work supports an export model that emphasizes added value and standards for international markets. Augura also provides industry services, including a climate prediction module that uses real-time data and meteorological analysis to deliver forecasts, early warnings, and practical guidance for protecting banana crops.
