Aull Nature Preserve (ANP) is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in January 2022 to protect and restore approximately 15 acres of wetland in Knollwood, Illinois. Its work is grounded in the belief that healthy natural ecosystems benefit both wildlife and the surrounding community. ANP’s vision is to create a thriving habitat that can hold floodwater, purify water, and provide wildlife with shelter and corridors, while preserving green space for future generations.
The organization works to educate nearby property owners and community members about conservation, and collaborates with surrounding landowners to restore green space and pursue conservation easements. Its restoration efforts include removing non-native plants and encouraging native vegetation that supports pollinators, birds, and other wildlife. ANP also offers ways for people to support its mission through donations and volunteer participation, sharing information and updates through its website, blog, and social media.
The preserve currently restricts access because trails are not available and restoration is at an early stage.
