AURO, short for AUtizmus a ROdina, is a Slovak civic association supporting people with autism and their families. Based in Drietoma, the organization brings together community, family support, volunteering and a strong connection with nature. Its long-term vision is to establish a welcoming natural setting where teenagers and adults with autism can live together meaningfully, with respect and dignity. The proposed community, called Mys dobrej nádeje, would combine permaculture and social farming, helping participants learn through caring for the land and living in a supportive environment.

AURO also welcomes volunteers to spend time with children and young people with autism. The association says this shared support can benefit both participants and families, including by offering caregivers valuable time to rest. Its interests include self-sufficient household practices, permaculture, edible forests, gardens and nature-based recreation. Supporters can contribute through donations, membership in the AURO Club, or partner shopping platforms. The organization also seeks people and suitable land or buildings that could help bring its community project to life.
