About Ausable Freshwater Center
The Ausable River Association, located in Wilmington, NY, is a brand dedicated to protecting and preserving the Ausable River watershed. Covering an expansive 512 square miles, the watershed consists of 94 miles of river channel and is fed by over 70 streams, including the Chubb River and Black Brook. Situated within the six-million-acre Adirondack Park, the watershed is home to a diverse range of ecosystems and vibrant human histories.
The Ausable River Association offers various programs and initiatives aimed at maintaining the health and sustainability of the river. These include the Ausable River Restoration Program, Natural Stream Restoration, Clean Water initiatives, Salt Use Reduction, Riparian Restoration and Monitoring, and the Ausable River Porta-Johns project. Additionally, the association provides guided watershed tours, fishing regulations, and recreational resources for exploring the Ausable River.
