Autimeer

Autimeer is the autism coaching practice of Liesbeth Schoon, supporting children, young people and their parents with personal, tailored guidance. Drawing on her experience as a special education teacher and training in orthopedagogy, Schoon helps clients understand how autism affects everyday life and develop practical ways to make it more manageable. Coaching is offered wherever support is needed, including at home, school or work, and is adapted to each person’s abilities, needs and strengths. The aim is to build confidence, improve daily functioning and encourage greater independence, while helping families and other people around the individual provide effective support.

Autimeer uses the Geef me de 5 method as its primary coaching framework, alongside Brainblocks and insights from Geweldloos Verzet (Nonviolent Resistance) and Verbindend Gezag (Connected Authority). Support may include reflecting on emotions and thoughts, creating structure and calm, addressing challenges, and coaching parents in responding to unwanted behaviour. Schoon’s approach recognises that every person is different and focuses on practical adjustments and positive contact rather than a one-size-fits-all solution.
