Autism Connex

Autism Connex is a rapidly growing charity dedicated to supporting over 200 families in Taranaki, addressing the urgent needs of the local autism community. Founded by Theresa Tongi and her colleagues, the organization aims to empower and uplift individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families by providing essential resources and services. Their vision includes developing a Taranaki-based Autism Centre that extends existing support offerings and fosters a nurturing environment.

Under the patronage of Sir Michael Jones, a renowned All Blacks legend, Autism Connex celebrates the incredible resilience of autistic individuals and their whānau. The charity hosts monthly Family Days that encourage community involvement and inclusivity, making volunteers essential to their mission. They seek compassionate individuals willing to assist with events, especially those who have experience working with children with disabilities.

At its core, Autism Connex embodies care, compassion, and a commitment to help children and families thrive in their journey with autism, reaffirming their belief that every child is a treasure.
