NVA

The Dutch Autism Association (Nederlandse Vereniging voor Autisme, or NVA) works to create a more autism-friendly society. It provides reliable information about autism, including how it can affect daily life, learning, relationships, sensory experiences, and different stages of life. The association also offers guidance on finding suitable support, explains practical approaches for individuals and those around them, and runs an information and advice line for questions about autism.

NVA connects people through local meetups, online discussion groups, peer-support gatherings, events, and autism-friendly activity days. Its Autipas helps people communicate that they are autistic. The association also shares personal stories, articles, news, and information about upcoming activities. Through advocacy, expert groups, ambassadors, and public initiatives, NVA raises awareness and represents the interests of autistic people and their families. It conducts research and engages with policymakers on issues such as education, youth care, and access to appropriate support. People can take part by becoming members, volunteering, or donating.
