About AutoSock
AutoSock, the Norwegian brand and inventor of snow socks, has revolutionized the winter traction device market since its establishment in Oslo in 1998. The company was founded by Bård Løtveit, a tire expert, who developed the first AutoSock prototype in 1996. With a team of specialists in textile engineering, yarn production, design, and snow and friction, AutoSock's functional Scandinavian design was perfected.
In collaboration with German car manufacturers and German TÜV SÜD, the product was further developed, approved, and launched in Europe in 2000. Since then, AutoSock has gained widespread recognition and expanded its distribution to Northern America, Japan, and Korea. Today, AutoSock is headquartered in Oslo and has a global network of distribution partners.
The brand has received numerous awards and has even been included in the permanent collection at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. With partnerships or approvals from renowned car manufacturers, AutoSock continues to provide high-quality traction solutions.
