Avalog is a backcountry companion that brings official avalanche forecasts, field observations, mountain weather and webcams together on an interactive map. It gathers information from forecasting services across North America, Europe and New Zealand, helping users review conditions from multiple sources in one place while linking each rating back to its original bulletin.
Users can explore forecast regions, compare daily danger ratings and read about the avalanche problems behind them. The platform also displays rider and forecaster reports, snowpack tests and avalanche observations, alongside hourly weather-station readings such as snowfall, temperature and wind. Custom maps let users save the regions, stations and webcams they follow, while radar alerts can notify them when selected conditions or thresholds are met.
Avalog offers search tools, a region explorer, an avalanche glossary and historical bulletins dating back to 1999. Users can also submit observations, including photos. Browsing requires no account or app installation. Available in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish, Avalog organizes existing forecasts rather than writing them, making mountain information easier to find and compare.
