The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) is a leading organization committed to enhancing the sport of volleyball across various levels, including NCAA, college beach, and high school competitions. Established in 1981, the AVCA manages comprehensive coaches polls that rank teams based on votes from AVCA-member coaches representing different conferences and geographic areas. Each season includes preseason, weekly, and end-of-season polls, ensuring a thorough assessment of team performance.
In addition to its polling activities, the AVCA offers a wide range of services and resources, including awards recognition, educational webinars, and a resource library covering mental health and diversity. The organization also fosters networking opportunities through events like the AVCA Convention and various recruitment initiatives. With a mission to enhance coaching and athlete experience, AVCA serves as a hub for volleyball coaches, providing essential tools and support to help them succeed in the evolving landscape of the sport.
