Aven Ecology

Aven Ecology is an independent ecological consultancy based in London, supporting planning and development projects across Southern England and the Home Counties. It works with developers, architects, homeowners, charities, architectural firms and public sector organisations, offering practical, cost-effective ecological advice to help projects progress while achieving positive outcomes for the environment. The consultancy’s partners bring more than 30 years of combined experience and are full members of the Chartered Institute of Environmental and Ecological Management (CIEEM).

Aven Ecology provides habitat and protected-species baseline surveys, ecological appraisals and impact assessments, habitat management plans, and mitigation strategies. Specialist survey and mitigation work covers bats, great crested newts, badgers, reptiles, barn owls, dormice, water voles and otters. The team also supports clients through planning, licensing and BREEAM accreditation processes, aiming to deliver timely, cost-efficient solutions. In addition to working directly with project clients, Aven Ecology advises other environmental consultancies and can provide survey support when needed. Its approach combines clear reporting, reliable communication and pragmatic recommendations tailored to ecological and planning requirements.
