AVEX, or Astronomie du Vexin, is a vibrant astronomy association based in Île-de-France, founded in 2003. With a community of 61 members, including 28 active participants, AVEX welcomes enthusiasts of all levels—from seasoned astrophotographers to curious newcomers. The association promotes astronomical knowledge and practices, providing a platform for sharing experiences and insights through their public forum and organized events.

One of AVEX's key initiatives is the fight against light pollution, a problem they actively raise awareness about through their collaboration with GRESAC, the Grand Répertoire des Sites Astronomiques Communautaires. The association also offers resources for meteorological insights, helping members plan ideal observation sessions. Members can showcase their astrophotography skills on astrobin, reflecting AVEX's belief that anyone can learn and excel in astronomy with the right community support. Connecting through camaraderie, education, and a shared passion for the cosmos, AVEX fosters a welcoming environment for all who seek to explore the universe.
