Scarf, a platform dedicated to software distribution, has taken a stand in solidarity with Ukraine by announcing the blockage of all package downloads from Russian Government sources. Led by Avi Press, Scarf emphasizes peace and open collaboration while denouncing global-scale war incitement. By analyzing its analytics, Scarf discovered that it fulfilled software download requests from at least 17 distinct Russian Government sources, prompting the necessary action to prevent facilitating harmful invasions.
Scarf offers insights, FAQ solutions, and tools to accelerate sales pipelines and measure adoption. Their integration with Common Room products enhances visibility and signals for open-source projects. Standing with Ukraine, Scarf calls on the open-source community to increase software distribution observability across the ecosystem.
By refusing services to governments inciting war and advocating for collaboration, Scarf sets a precedent for ethical technology distribution
