AVIS Melzo

AVIS Melzo is a local branch of the Italian Association of Blood Volunteers, dedicated to promoting blood donation and supporting a culture of solidarity. Based in Melzo, at Viale Olanda 5, the association shares information about who can donate, how donations work, and the importance of blood and plasma for patient care. Blood cannot be artificially reproduced and is essential in emergencies, surgery, cancer treatment, and transplants; donations help maintain a shared resource that may save lives.

AVIS Melzo invites eligible people to learn about donating and arrange an appointment. Prospective donors must generally be aged 18 to 65, weigh at least 50 kilograms, and be in good health. Periodic donors over 65 may be considered up to age 70 following clinical assessment. A medical evaluation determines eligibility, and the association describes the visit and initial blood draw as free. It also provides contact details, including a telephone number and WhatsApp, publishes news and ethical information, and encourages supporters to contribute through Italy’s 5×1000 tax allocation.
