Avis Sulmona

AVIS Sulmona is a local association of volunteer blood donors affiliated with the Italian National Blood Volunteers Association (AVIS), serving the community of Sulmona in Abruzzo. Its work focuses on encouraging voluntary blood donation and supporting a reliable supply for patients. The association provides information about who can donate, temporary or other reasons a person may be unable to donate, ethical principles, donation types, and the steps and conditions involved. It invites eligible donors to contact the transfusion centre to arrange blood or plasma donations, including ahead of periods such as summer holidays when supplies may be under pressure.

Alongside donor information, AVIS Sulmona shares updates on blood shortages, donation campaigns, and health initiatives, and organises events such as World Donor Day celebrations and donor recognition gatherings. It also publicises Universal Civil Service opportunities for young people and provides information about its governance, approved budgets, statutes, and related regulations. The association lists local agreements, including arrangements with a café and cinema, and connects with the public through its website and social media channels.
