AVM Survivors is a dedicated patient-to-patient support community for individuals and families affected by AVM (arteriovenous malformation). It is run by volunteer moderators who have themselves been affected by AVM, ensuring a compassionate and understanding environment. AVM, which are defects of the circulatory system, can have widespread effects on the body, especially when located in the brain or spinal cord.
AVM Survivors is part of BensFriends. org, a network of patient communities for rare diseases. Founded in 2007 by Ben Muñoz, who suffered from a rare form of stroke caused by AVM, BensFriends.
org aims to provide valuable support and connections for people living with rare diseases. Through AVMSurvivors. org and other patient communities, individuals with AVM can find a second home, connecting with others who share similar experiences.
