Avondvierdaagse Heemskerk

Avond4daagse Heemskerk is a community walking event that brings children, families and people of all ages together for four enjoyable evenings outdoors in Heemskerk. The event encourages participants to get moving, explore their local area and share the experience of crossing the finish line. The 2026 edition is scheduled for 16 to 19 June, with routes of 3, 5 and 10 kilometres.

Each evening offers a different route through the village and its surroundings, including residential streets, green spaces and, on the longest route, landmarks such as Castle Assumburg and the nearby dune area. Routes are clearly marked, and the shorter distances are suitable for beginners and younger walkers, while the 10-kilometre option is intended for more experienced participants. The organisation provides event information, route details, registration and answers to frequently asked questions.

Participation costs €7. 50 per person when registered in advance; on-site registration is also available at a higher fee. Local sponsors and volunteers help make the event possible, and people can enquire about volunteering by email
