AWAKE Community

AWAKE Community is an environmental organization bringing together artists, musicians, gardeners, and scientists to promote awareness, knowledge, and education about caring for the planet. Its work connects creative expression with practical community action, with a focus on sustainability and living in harmony with nature.

The organization helps transform yards and neighborhoods into sustainable gardens and wildlife habitats, sharing methods that support healthy ecosystems without harmful chemicals. Its educational efforts cover zero-waste and plastic-free living, plant-based choices, water conservation, renewable energy, and the use of native and drought-tolerant plants. AWAKE also participates in beach, forest, and roadside cleanups, advocates for protecting open spaces, and researches ways to preserve vulnerable and endangered species.

Its Brentwood Urban Farm in Los Angeles features organic garden beds, fruit trees, rainwater catchment, graywater systems, solar panels, and xeriscaping, and works with the City Council to teach urban sustainability. Through music and other creative projects, including songs featuring whale sounds and freely shareable tracks, AWAKE extends its environmental message to a global community of conscious creators.
