About AWARE : Archives of Women Artists
AWARE Women Artists, also known as Archives of Women Artists, Research and Exhibitions, is a non-profit organization founded in 2014 by Camille Morineau, an art historian specializing in women artists. Their goal is to create, index, and disseminate information about women artists from the 19th and 20th centuries. AWARE aims to rewrite art history in a more gender-equitable way, placing female artists on an equal footing with their male counterparts and showcasing their works.
They offer various resources and initiatives to achieve this mission, including exhibitions, publications, podcasts, and a thematic series. Additionally, AWARE provides educational content for both children and adults through engaging animated videos and thematic school programs. Through their extensive research, documentation center, and bibliography, AWARE strives to raise awareness of women artists and their significant contributions to art.
They are based in Paris, France, and can be contacted via email or phone. AWARE Women Artists is dedicated to supporting and promoting the work of female artists worldwide
