AWO Dachau

AWO Kreisverband Dachau e.V. is a nonprofit social welfare association serving people across the city and district of Dachau. Independent of political parties and religious denominations, it works according to the values of solidarity, tolerance, diversity, freedom, equality and justice. For more than 30 years, the association has developed social services at 27 locations, supported by over 350 employees and volunteers.

Its services for children and young people include twelve childcare facilities, with places for infants, preschoolers and school-age children, as well as inclusive support for children with disabilities or at risk of disability. AWO Dachau also provides school lunch supervision, all-day education and youth social work. Family services include volunteer support for families with babies and assistance for households facing particular challenges. The Dachau women’s shelter offers refuge to women and children at risk.

For older residents, services include senior clubs, home care and assisted living in Altomünster. The multigenerational centre creates opportunities for people of different ages and backgrounds to meet, access advice and participate in community life.
