About AWO Essen
AWO Essen | Essen is a social work association and a tolerant society, committed to being non-denominational, politically independent, and democratic. Their aim is to provide a range of services and support to children and parents. For children, they offer Hopskids, a program promoting outdoor activities, as well as Waldläufer Kindermobil, which provides flexible support for parenting.
They also have facilities and community centers such as the Hans-Gipmann-Haus and the Julius-Leber-Haus. AWO Essen offers various courses and programs for parents, including support for LGBTQ families in Essen through their Regenbogenfamilien in Essen initiative. They also have a wide network of kindergartens and family centers located throughout Essen, each with its own unique offerings and programs.
