Axé Capoeira Česká republika is part of Grupo Axé Capoeira, an international community dedicated to capoeira and Brazilian culture. Capoeira combines martial arts, acrobatics, dance and music, and the group offers training for adults, teenagers aged 13–18, and children aged 6–12. Classes welcome beginners as well as experienced students, developing movement skills, strength, flexibility, reflexes and a sense of rhythm. Children learn through playful activities that also support confidence, while teens train under the guidance of an experienced Brazilian instructor.
The group also runs Brazilian samba classes and dance workshops, including afro, maculelê and coco de roda. Led in the Czech Republic by Contramestre Tartaruga, whose experience includes more than 25 years of practice and teaching in the country since 2006, Axé Capoeira trains in Prague, Jílové u Prahy, Hradec Králové and Mělník. It organizes workshops across the country and provides Brazilian-themed performances for private and public events, featuring capoeiristas, samba dancers and acrobats. A free trial class is available to new participants.
