About AYAN Kenya
AYAN Kenya is a non-governmental organization that was established in 2013 with the aim of involving young people in creating an enabling environment for adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health and rights. Initially, we focused on the empowerment of youth, women, girls, and sexual and gender minorities. However, we soon realized that our work required a holistic approach.
So, we expanded our efforts to advocate for the promotion and protection of health rights in addition to our focus on youth. Starting out with just the Executive Director and 5 volunteers, AYAN Kenya has now grown into an organization with NGO status and a dedicated team. We work on broader health and human rights issues in Kisumu, Siaya, Homabay, and Migori Counties.
Our vision is to create a society where sexual and reproductive health rights are respected and upheld for all. With a mission to advocate for the implementation of policies, legislation, and litigation that promote sexual and reproductive health rights for youth, young girls, and sexual and gender minorities in Kenya
