About Nasser Azam
Nasser Azam is a British contemporary artist whose practice spans painting, portraiture and monumental public sculpture. Known for ambitious projects in extreme environments, he created paintings in weightless conditions aboard an aircraft with the Russian Space Agency and produced a series of abstract oil paintings during an expedition to Antarctica. His public commissions include Athena, a bronze sculpture at London City Airport described as the tallest bronze in the United Kingdom, and Evolutionary Loop 517 at the University of Aberdeen.
Azam’s work also features in exhibitions and cultural projects, including a major solo exhibition at London’s Saatchi Gallery and the ongoing Diaspora Project, which brings paintings into public spaces across London. His commissions and collaborations extend to portraits, restaurant collections and installations, including work for New York’s Marea. Other projects have explored neuroscience, early iPhones as artistic materials and digital collectibles.
Through Azam Studios, the artist presents projects, shares his biography and provides contact information for press enquiries and acquisitions
