Azattyq is the Kazakh edition of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL), dedicated to providing unbiased news and information to Central Asian audiences, particularly in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Established in October 2024, Azattyq consolidates multiple Russian-language newsrooms from five Central Asian countries, known for its commitment to free speech and journalistic integrity in regions where these values are often under threat.

RFE/RL operates as a non-profit organization fundamentally independent from any political, religious, or commercial entities, ensuring that its reporting is free from external pressures. The organization aims to promote democratic values by delivering accurate news and facilitating open discussions in countries where freedom of expression is restricted. Azattyq serves a diverse audience through its extensive network of local reporters, producing content in 24 languages and focusing on key issues across Central Asia. Their journalism not only addresses local events but also engages with broader geopolitical discussions, making them a vital source of information in the region.
