AZ Doxies is a dachshund breeder based in Crystal River, Florida, serving families in Citrus County and across the USA. The business raises puppies in a home environment, where they receive daily care, early socialization, and hands-on attention. Its breeding program prioritizes health, structure, temperament, and long-term soundness, with the goal of producing well-bred dachshunds as family companions rather than show dogs or trend-driven pets.
Before breeding, parent dogs undergo genetic and health screening. The program uses DNA panels to check for inherited diseases, breed-specific conditions, and genetic markers, and obtains OFA evaluations for patellas, cardiac health, and CAER eye certifications. AZ Doxies also considers structure, pedigree, and IVDD risk in breeding decisions.
The business offers dachshund puppies, including longhaired males and females, and helps prospective owners find a puppy suited to their home, lifestyle, and preferences. Its process includes an initial conversation, guided puppy selection, and ongoing breeder support after a puppy goes home. AZ Doxies presents its relationship with puppy families as a lifelong commitment.
