The Industrial Commission of Arizona (ICA) is an agency dedicated to protecting the life, health, safety, and welfare of Arizona's workforce. Established in 1925, the ICA was created as a result of legislation implementing workers' compensation system provisions. Initially, the workers' compensation system consisted of the State Compensation Fund and self-insured employers, mainly mining and railroad companies.

Over time, the system expanded to include private insurance companies, and the State Compensation Fund became a separate agency responsible for providing workers' compensation insurance coverage. Today, the ICA has a broad scope of responsibilities, including occupational safety and health, resolving wage-related disputes, vocational rehabilitation, and more. The agency is governed by a five-member Commission appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate.
