The Abu Zafar Institute of Medical Sciences (AZIMS) is the first private medical university in Pakistan. Established in 1996 by the Late Prof. Dr.
Abu Zafar Ali Alvi, it is located in Karachi and is affiliated with the prestigious Quaid-e-Azam University. AZIMS is run under the umbrella of the Zafar and Atia Foundation Charitable Trust. The institute offers a wide range of programs and degree courses including the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), BS Medical Technology (with specializations in Cardiac Perfusion Sciences, Operation Theatre Sciences, and Clinical Laboratory Sciences), Post-RN BS Nursing, and Diploma courses in various medical disciplines.
