Associação Zoófila de Leiria (AZL), also known as Fiéis Amigos, is an animal welfare association focused on defending and protecting animals in the Leiria area of Portugal. Its work centres on supporting dogs and cats affected by abandonment and mistreatment, and helping animals find homes through its adoption process. The association shares information about animals available for adoption, including dogs and cats in foster care, and offers ways for the public to contribute through fostering, sponsorship, membership and donations.

AZL also encourages practical community involvement. Visitors can join supervised dog walks on Saturday and Sunday mornings, following the association’s rules; minors must be accompanied by an adult. Other ways to help include purchasing through the association’s initiatives and using designated donation collection points. The organisation provides information on animal protection, sterilisation, relevant legislation and fines or penalties that may be donated to support its work. AZL also lists events, protocols and partnerships, and maintains contact channels for people seeking information or wishing to get involved.
