AZ Museum of Natural History

The Arizona Museum of Natural History (AZMNH) is a Mesa-based museum and active scientific research institution that invites visitors to explore the region’s natural and cultural history. Its mission is to foster curiosity and community through evidence-based perspectives, discovery, and learning. Exhibitions and collections highlight dinosaurs, fossils, paleontology, geology, anthropology, and the history and artifacts of the first peoples of the Sonoran Desert. Visitors can also take part in interactive experiences, from panning for gold and building a Mayan city to learning about the force of flash floods.

AZMNH offers year-round field trips aligned with Arizona academic standards, homeschool discounts, educational programs, virtual learning, and the MEAD Machine, which brings museum experiences to classrooms. The museum also hosts scientific lectures, special events, live fossil preparation, birthday parties, and other group celebrations. Its Museum Store sells fossils, geological items, hands-on learning activities, clothing, and souvenirs. Ticketing, membership, donations, volunteer opportunities, and internships provide additional ways to engage. Purchases and support help fund exhibitions, research, and education.
