The Association of Families of Azovstal Defenders is a dedicated civic organization founded by families of defenders from Mariupol, particularly those who held out at the Azovstal steel plant during a grueling 86-day siege. This association is committed to advocating for the return of soldiers and providing vital support to families anxiously waiting for their loved ones. Under the leadership of Kateryna Prokopenko, an activist and illustrator who is married to the commander of the Azov regiment, the organization unites voices striving for justice and acknowledgment.

Members actively engage in various initiatives to promote awareness and provide assistance, including public events, advocacy efforts, and fundraising initiatives.
