BEAM is an open-source, community-driven decentralized bandwidth network built on Bittensor. It coordinates data transfers across distributed infrastructure, bringing together capacity from data centers, internet service providers, and independent operators. Its goal is to make bandwidth easier to coordinate and verify for internet workloads and data exchange between AI systems and agents.

The network uses orchestrators to select routes and assign work to workers, which transfer data in parallel. BEAM supports single-source and multi-source transfer patterns, including replication, aggregation, and mesh distribution. Its integrations include AWS S3, Cloudflare R2, Google Cloud, Snowflake, Salesforce, REST APIs, webhooks, MCP servers, and custom endpoints. The platform is designed for use cases such as cross-cloud synchronization, AI pipelines, decentralized training, event-driven transfers, and global edge delivery.

BEAM’s Proof-of-Bandwidth mechanism records verifiable transfer performance, including throughput, latency, and reliability. Validators review these records, and network rewards are aligned with measured contribution. The project offers tools and resources including Tunnels, CLI, Studio, documentation, API references, and GitHub, and invites users to participate through its community channels.
