The Baby Clinic

The Baby Circumcision & Tongue Tie Clinic is a dedicated medical clinic in Hyde Park, Townsville, providing care for babies and their families. Its team offers face-to-face consultations without requiring a referral and aims to make visits convenient while supporting continuity of care. Appointments are available by arrangement.

The clinic’s core services include Plastibell circumcision for male babies, preferably during the first four weeks and up to 10 weeks of age, and release of tongue or lip ties, preferably in the first four weeks and up to six months. Where appropriate, consultation and treatment may be offered on the same day. Procedures are performed in the clinic rooms under local anaesthetic, and Medicare rebates apply.

The doctors, sisters Dr Alexandra Stalewski and Dr Elizabeth Stalewski, grew up in Townsville and studied medicine at James Cook University. Both are general practitioners with additional training and skills in paediatrics and minor procedures. The clinic is located at Shop 10, 183–191 Charters Towers Road, Hyde Park, and operates by appointment.
