BACF

The Black Agricultural Commodities Federation (BACF) is a South African federation that brings together black farmer and agricultural commodity organisations to strengthen farmers’ productivity and participation in the agricultural economy. Its members and affiliated sectors span poultry, grain, red meat, game ranching, deciduous fruit, livestock and other agricultural industries. The federation supports access to multiple commodities, mentorship and training, and works to advance opportunities for black farmers in line with Africa’s development aspirations and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

BACF’s services and initiatives include agricultural development, economic research and business advisory support through member organisations. These groups promote the interests of small-scale and developing commercial grain farmers, encourage self-sufficiency among black poultry producers, and support growing black ownership in the deciduous fruit industry. Its work also includes facilitating legal hunting practices and promoting investment in livestock through crowdfarming. BACF operates an online farmers’ marketplace and convenes workshops and conferences on agricultural development, renewable energy and eco-friendly farming. Farmers and stakeholders can explore membership to access federation-wide opportunities and support.
