Backcountry Delights

Backcountry Delights offers guided fishing charters in Islamorada, Florida, led by Captain Nick Ewald, a longtime local and professional charter and tournament fisherman with more than 25 years of experience. Captain Nick guides guests through Florida Bay, Everglades National Park, and nearby reef and Gulf waters, drawing on his knowledge of the area to help them enjoy its fishing and wildlife. Depending on the season and conditions, anglers may target species including snook, tarpon, redfish, snapper, grouper, trout, permit, bonefish, and tripletail.

Charters are available for four, six, or eight hours, with options to customize a trip as a sandbar visit, eco-tour, or sunset cruise. Guests can request conventional, spinning, or fly-fishing setups. Trips include tackle, bait, fishing licenses, and an iced cooler with bottled water. Two Yamaha-powered boats are available: an 18-foot Hell’s Bay Marquesa for up to three anglers and a 24-foot Pathfinder Bay Boat for up to four. All trips depart from Bud N’ Mary’s Marina in Islamorada.
