Background Hawk is an online resource that helps consumers choose background check services suited to their needs. Rather than simply directing visitors to a single provider, the site reviews and compares services, offering recommendations intended to make research easier. Its coverage includes personal background checks and providers such as Checkr, Sterling, ADP, First Advantage, and Truescreen.

The site also helps visitors explore public records, with information and search resources related to criminal, inmate, warrant, marriage, and court records. Users can browse guidance by state, including information about background check laws across the United States, and select a state to learn more about their situation. Background Hawk’s articles address practical questions, such as what a background check may reveal and how long checks for particular services can take.

Additional resources include top picks, reviews, and comparisons, as well as a newsletter for updates. The site also provides information about privacy, cookies, affiliate relationships, advertising, and its website disclaimer.
