Backwoods Solar Electric Systems

Backwoods Solar is a renewable energy equipment retailer and system-design provider based in Sandpoint, Idaho. In business since 1976, the company serves customers seeking off-grid and grid-tie power solutions, drawing on the practical experience of staff who live with renewable energy systems in northern Idaho. Rather than relying on one-size-fits-all packages, Backwoods Solar works directly with customers and installers to understand each project, budget, and energy need, then develops a tailored system plan. Its design service and after-sale technical support are offered free of charge.

Products include solar modules, mounting and wiring equipment, batteries, charge controllers, inverters, power centers, and electrical components, as well as wind turbines and micro-hydro equipment. The company also offers water pumps and related kits, RV and cabin systems, appliances, lighting, fans, and other home goods. Its services cover custom residential off-grid and grid-tie systems, solar-direct water pumping, mobile and RV setups, and commercial grid-tie projects.
