Backyard Buddies

Backyard Buddies is a national environmental education initiative and community engagement program supported by the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife (FNPW), an environmental charity dedicated to protecting Australia's ecosystems and native species. This initiative aims to create awareness about the importance of backyard habitats in cities and suburban areas, which serve as sanctuaries for native animals when their natural habitat is damaged or lost. Backyard Buddies offers a range of resources and information to help individuals and communities create wildlife-friendly backyard habitats.

Their website provides details on various backyard buddies, including birds, bugs & insects, mammals, frogs, reptiles, and plants. They also offer DIY projects and citizen science opportunities, allowing people to actively contribute to the preservation of wildlife. Through their education programs, Backyard Buddies collaborates with schools, councils, Catchment Management Authorities, and community members across Australia.

Their goal is to protect Australia's unique biodiversity for future generations and encourage everyone to become a backyard buddy by supporting injured wildlife, fundraising, donating, and volunteering. Connect with Backyard Buddies on social media or visit their website to explore the fascinating world of Australia's native wildlife and learn how you can make a positive impact in your own backyard
