About Bad Rabbit Studio
Bad Rabbit Studio is an independent, award-winning team of two filmmakers based in Harare, Zimbabwe. With a deep commitment to storytelling and a love for the people and landscapes of Southern Africa, Bad Rabbit Studio strives to create impactful and meaningful work. They specialize in conservation and social impact storytelling through film, photography, and writing.
Their mission is to use these mediums to raise awareness, inspire action, and foster a deeper understanding of the issues that affect our environment and society. By shining a spotlight on the often-overlooked stories of the resilience of rural communities and the complex issues that shape environmental decision making, they aim to inspire conversation, provoke thought, and contribute towards a deeper understanding of the continent’s complexities and rich heritage. The team is led by Buck O’Donoghue, the founder and creative director of Bad Rabbit Studio, who has a particular focus on empowering audiences to embrace and protect the preservation of Africa’s wild and rural landscapes.
Joanna Craig, the producer and writer, dedicates her career to capturing the profound connections between people, wildlife, and landscape, with a strong environmental and social anthropological focus. Whether through their films, photography, or writing, Bad Rabbit Studio's work is driven by care, integrity, and a desire to shed light on the stories that matter
