Bahari Hai is a not-for-profit marine conservation organization based in Watamu, on the Northern coast of Kenya. Our mission is to build a community that is conscious of and actively involved in protecting and establishing healthy marine ecosystems. We collaborate with local stakeholders, including fishing communities, community groups, government agencies, and the private sector, to address the complex challenges faced in the marine environment.

Bahari Hai was founded by a team of marine conservation experts and professionals from the local community. Our team members bring a wealth of experience in grassroots conservation work, as well as strong organizational and governance skills. We are proud of our dedicated team and the meaningful impact they have made.

Our work encompasses various areas, including sea turtle conservation, sea turtle nest monitoring, sea turtle photo identification, sea turtle bycatch mitigation, community development, anti-poaching, science and research, and policy and campaigning.
