Bahnsparer

Bahnsparer is an independent rail-travel app designed to help people save time and money when planning and taking train journeys. It compares fares and travel times across connections, while showing historical punctuality data so travelers can weigh price, speed, and reliability. The app offers a flexible price calendar for comparing journeys across up to two weeks, plus price alerts that track a chosen travel date and notify users of lower fares. Its fare checks also cover options such as regional tickets, seat reservations, return journeys, international tickets, and split tickets, with links to official sellers for booking.

During a trip, Bahnsparer provides live travel information, including arrival estimates, platforms, carriage order, connection times, and possible onward services. Afterward, it compares scheduled and actual arrival times and helps users check potential compensation for delays; claims are submitted to the relevant rail operator. Bahnsparer is free to use, requires no account, and contains no advertising. It is available for iPhone, iPad, Android, macOS, Windows, and Linux, and is developed by Max Ritter.
