The Belarusian Association of Journalists (BAJ) is a non-governmental, democratic association representing media professionals in Belarus, described as the country’s largest organization of its kind. It works to support journalists and independent media amid pressure and repression, and provides information and resources for media workers and the wider public.

BAJ’s website covers current news, media freedom, journalism and the law, and developments affecting Belarusian journalists at home and abroad. Its resources include legal consultations, legal reviews and commentary, reports and ratings on the media sector, operational monitoring, annual reports, and information about detentions and repression. The association also publishes statements and practical guidance, and highlights vacancies, grants, competitions, scholarships, events, and other opportunities for journalists.

BAJ promotes professional ethics through its Council of Media Ethics and related initiatives, while solidarity campaigns seek to help media workers remain in the profession. The organization also shares books, special projects, a photobank, and information about membership. Readers can subscribe to its newsletter or make a donation to support its work.
