Bakehuset is a Norwegian bakery company wholly owned by NorgesGruppen. Bringing together eleven local bakeries, it describes itself as Norway’s largest bakery and serves large parts of the country. Its bakeries combine traditional baking, skilled craftsmanship and professional expertise to make fresh products available in grocery stores. Bakers work through the night so customers can find freshly baked breads the following morning.
The range includes breads, sweet pastries and other baked goods, such as cinnamon rolls and skolebrød, as well as cakes for special occasions. Customers can order cakes online and collect them at participating KIWI, MENY, SPAR, EUROSPAR or Joker stores. Bakehuset also offers bake-off and wholesale services, alongside recipes and inspiration for meals and snacks.
The company shares information about its bakeries, products, grain and nutrition, quality and sustainability. Its activities have also included supporting research into childhood dementia: during a stated campaign period, one krone from each Norsk Fjellbrød sold was set aside for research at NTNU.
