Bakkers Werkplaats Rotterdam is a socially-driven bakery where people with social or intellectual limitations are given an opportunity to work and learn the art of baking. By purchasing our bread and delicious treats, you not only indulge in freshly baked goods but also contribute to creating opportunities for our exceptional team of bakers. Located at Sumatraweg 22, our store is open Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm and Saturday from 8 am to 4 pm.

Our range includes freshly baked bread with only the finest ingredients, carefully crafted with time and attention. We use a Wiesheu oven powered by green electricity, providing the German wood oven's baking character. We also incorporate fresh yeast and locally cultivated sourdough cultures into our baking process.

Inspired by the rich maritime history of the Katendrecht neighborhood, we offer bread varieties such as Kaapse Knar and Ruwe Bolder, and our cookies are packaged in a Kaapse Container. Additionally, our oven produces unique cookies with (company) logos, delicious cinnamon knots, Zeeuwse bollussen, individual apple pies, and much more. Join us as a Broodbroeder, where you can help by becoming a pickup point for our bread in your neighborhood or delivering our bread to local residents.

As a social enterprise, we rely on the support of our community. Every day, we strive to contribute to a cleaner environment by recycling paper, converting orange peels into biomass, creating breadcrumbs from old bread, and utilizing 50% electric transportation with electric bikes for delivery.
